Deputy County prefect Sobota met with the director of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Pannon

Director of European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (Pannon EGTC) András Göndöc and his associates visited the county administration on Tuesday, February 27th , and met with Deputy County prefect Darko Sobota, while the meeting was attended by the director of the PORA Development agency of Podravina and Prigorje Melita Birčić.

The main theme of the meeting were activities for the following period, with emphasis on the perspective of Koprivnica Križevci County, as new member of this transnational organization,  within Pannon, and following the introductory speeches, a presentation was held on the activities of the County in the field of international cooperation and implementation of EU projects. At the same time, the possibilities of developing future project proposals with the partners from Hungary and Slovenia in the development of transport, culture and tourism were shown whereby Deputy Sobota emphasized that the County, as a member of Pannon, can see “the opportunity for new cooperation between the regions and themselves as a link for partnerships in development of projects “. Also, the County can be a link for the bilateral linking of units of local self-government from the croatian and hungarian side”.

Director Göndöc presented the project “Fiche”, which Pannon EGTC plans to apply to the INTERREG programme Hungary-Croatia and highlight it as a priority for this cross-border programme. It is a project to build the capacity of EGTC members in the area of planning and implementation of projects, in order to prepare for future programming period about ten strategic projects important for the entire Pannon region. The value of the project, within which is planned opening of four new offices of Pannon EGTC in regions, is estimated at about EUR 950,000.

Deputy County prefect Sobota expressed the readiness of Koprivnica Križevci County to accept this initiative and that the project “Fiche” has the importance of priority, and at the end of the meeting he thanked Göndöc and colleagues for visiting and co-operation, along with the desire to realize many useful projects, how for the benefit of the County, as well as the entire European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Pannon.
