Held wine exhibition „The golden wines of Alps Adriatic 2014.“

In Đurđevac was last Saturday, June 7th in the premises of Hotel Picok held first international wine exhibition „The golden wines of Alps Adriatic 2014.“. The exhibition was organized by Koprivnica Križevci County, Community of Associations of winegrowers, winemakers and fruitgrowers of Koprivnica Križevci County and Tourist board of Koprivnica Križevci County.

The goal of the manifestation is promotion of wine, winegrowers and wine-growing areas in member regions of Alps Adriatic Alliance. So on this competition participated the best wines from the region called „Alps Adriatic“, which share Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. Commision had difficult task because the registered wines have already been evaluated as excellent, and participated at some regional or national evaluation and won a high medal.

The programme of the manifestation started with tour to Matočec winery which is situated at Đurđevac wine road followed with opening of the manifestation by the County Prefect Darko Koren and who together with Deputy County Prefect and as well the president of the Community of Associations of winegrowers, winemakers and fruitgrowers of Koprivnica Križevci County Darko Sobota, handed to the awarded certificates and diplomas. Wines arrived at the exhibition were evaluated by an international commission, which was consisted of: Prof.. Dr. Ana Jeromel, President of the Commission, Prof.. Dr. Edi Maletić, coordinator of evaluation and the secretary of Commission and evaluators Suzana Jurišić, BSc. ing, Croatia, Prof. Dr. Mojmir Wondra, Slovenia, Péter Modos, Hungary, Doc.dr. Marko Karoglan, Croatia, Marijan Čižmesija, BSc. ing, Croatia, Prof.dr. Tatjana Košmerl, Slovenia and Viniczai Sandor, Hungary.

It was total evaluated 53 wines, and according to the members of the Alliance most of the wines were from Hungary (total of 23), followed with Croatia (20), then Austria and Slovenia (per 5 samples). As the best evaluated wine or „The golden wine of Alps Adriatic area“ was chosen ice wine Graševina, producer Cooperative Podolski from Križevci (Croatia), year of picking 2011. The best evaluated white wine was Sauvignon from Winegrowing and cellars Cmrečnjak from St. Urban (Croatia), year of picking 2013., and the best red wine was Zweigelt of the producer Lang Jozefa (Hungary), year of picking 2012.

After awarding certificates and awards to the best, it was held wine tasting where all interested could taste evaluated wines.
